About PALS of Central Texas

Neighbors helping neighbors — and the pets they love

Our Mission

The mission of Pet Prevent a Litter (PALS) of Central Texas is to combat pet overpopulation and homelessness through accessible, community-driven solutions. We are dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership by offering educational programs to the public and providing low-cost, income-based Human and Animal services for economically disadvantaged residents, including sterilization, vaccinations, microchipping, and a pet food pantry. Our organization also works to control unowned cat populations and prevent unwanted litters by supporting effective trap-neuter-return-maintain (TNRM) initiatives. Through these efforts, we aim to create a healthier, safer future for pets and the people that love them.

PALS Depends on You
PALS depends on donations from caring community members like you. We are not a government agency — every surgery, every vaccine, every bag of pet food is made possible by the people of Hays County.

“PALS helped me get my dog fixed when I couldn’t afford it anywhere else. The staff was so kind and professional. I’ll be forever grateful.”
